The Firstborn of God (Colossians 1:15)

Jesus is the son of God. He is the firstborn, the first in all things.

Colossians 1:15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Everything that we know was created by Him and for Him.

Colossians 1:16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

There is nothing before Him, because He is the beginning of all things.

Colossians 1:17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

He is the firstborn from the dead, for he left his glory and dwelt among us, as a man, emptied himself and died on the cross, taking our guilt upon himself, so that we could be reconnected to God, who does not admit sin.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

The Bible teaches us that all those who received Jesus' sacrifice were given the right to be called CHILDREN OF GOD.

John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

If you have received Jesus into your heart and you consider him as your Lord and Savior, then you are not a mere creation of God, but a child of God and God, like a zealous father, will never abandon you.

Isaiah 49:15 Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

As Jesus is the firstborn from the dead, then there will be others and these others are we, who must die to sin and live a new life, led by Jesus and his Word, putting aside all the wickedness and sinful tendencies that are upon our flesh and live in the spirit, crucifying our flesh,  which are our desires and desires, to live the desires and desires of God, because God is faithful to take care of us and reward us for our faithfulness and love to Him.

Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Jesus was also the firstborn to be resurrected, representing that after our death to sin, we will achieve God's great promise and miracle, which is the resurrection of the dead, to live fully and definitively in the presence of God.

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

John 6:47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.

1 Corinthians 6:14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

2 Corinthians 4:14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself.

Therefore, DO NOT LOSE FOCUS, as your MAIN OBJECTIVE must be to ACHIEVE SALVATION, as your material blessings will always be a consequence of your fidelity to God.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
