The Foolishness Of Preaching (1 Corinthians 1:18-25)

How to explain the unconditional love of God, through the sacrifice of Jesus?

How to explain the effects of Jesus' sacrifice?

The Christian world needs to reflect clearly on these two questions, because the sacrifice of Jesus has been scathingly despised by the Church of Christ.

More and more we see people “CONVERTED YEARS AGO” who do not know the true gospel and consequently act contrary to the Word of God.

The church, in general, has preached a very natural gospel, sometimes carnal, where the preached message is that the death of Jesus on the cross has already happened, therefore everyone has already won.

And they forget that natural things are foolishness to God and the things of God are foolishness to the natural man.

1 Corinthians 1:19 For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate. 20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Jesus died on the cross, yes, and his sacrifice generated man's redemption before God, but this redemption is not automatic, as many preach.

For redemption to take place, it is necessary for man to become different from what he was then, because before Jesus was part of our lives we were dead and through the repentance of our sins, through the coming of Christ and through the shame of his death in cross, we were healed and restored and raised to the status of children of God.

Before we were God's creatures, now we are God's children, but only those who accepted and understood Jesus' sacrifice.

John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Never forget that following Jesus means OBEYING THE GOSPEL.

John 12:48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

It is very sad to hear certain words from converts to Christ many years ago, such as:

I CANNOT FORGIVE CERTAIN PEOPLE:
Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? 22 Jesus answered, I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

OCCASIONALLY I UNINTENTIONALLY USE A CURSE WORD:
Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

I AM OUT OF STRENGTH TO PRAY. I CANNOT PRAY:
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually.

ANYTIME I PICK UP MY BIBLE TO READ, I ALWAYS FEEL SLEEPY:
Hosea 4:6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

IN TRAFFIC I TRANSFORM:
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

MESS WITH ME, BUT DON'T MESS WITH MY FAMILY:
Matthew 10:37 Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Many are fooling themselves, thinking that they accepted Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross, but in fact they did not, because whoever repeatedly practices any of the above attitudes and others, is actually rejecting Christ and whoever rejects Christ will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord, that is, he will be condemned.

1 Corinthians 11:27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

John 14:24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
